HOW DOES THE PROCEDURE WORK?
Expression lines occur when we smile, laugh, cry, wince, grimace, scowl or frown. Muscle relaxant injections work by relaxing the tiny muscles very precisely. After treatment, the expression lines and excess movement is diminished, however normal facial expression should appear natural.
The effect of the treatment becomes noticeable in 4-5 days and usually lasts for up to 3-4 months.
WHAT WILL THE PATIENT EXPERIENCE DURING THE PROCEDURE?
This treatment is usually both simple and safe. Small calculated amounts of the muscle relaxant are injected with a very fine needle into the treatment area. As the needle is so fine and only a small amount is used, discomfort is usually minimal.
WHAT CAN THE PATIENT EXPECT AFTER THE PROCEDURE?
There may be a minimal amount of bruising at the injection site, however most people return to their normal routine immediately after the procedure.
